Cultivated since ancient times, Falanghina is obtained from vineyards located on clayey, calcareous, sunny hillsides that guarantee high quality grapes.

Product Description

Late Harvest with overripening in the vineyards
Production area: Benevento Province, more specifically Sannio area (only hilly terrains)
Grapes: Falanghina
Age of the vineyard: over 10 years
Vineyard position: South with rows from North to South
Soil: calcareous clay
Altitude: between 300 and 400 m. asl
Harvest: early October after an overripening of the grape in the fields/on the vine
Vinification: after a soft pressing must ferments off the skins at controlled temperature (16/18°C)
Ageing: in stainless steel on lees with batonnage
Bottle ageing: at least 2 months

ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES
Colour: straw-yellow with greenish hues
Aroma: fine and elegant with a distinct hint of banana and ripe pear
Flavour: delicate, round, ripe fruit, typical pear notes, pleasant to the palate. This wine is what we might call a “red wine dressed in white”
Food pairing: risotto with langoustines, squid stew, shellfish in general as well as fresh cheese
Serving temperature: 10/12°C
